Established in 1822, Louth was Lincolnshire's original cricket club. Nowadays it is a vibrant club that has enjoyed considerable success in recent years.
In 2007 the 1ST XI finished 6th in their first year of Lincolnshire ECB League; the 2ND XI narrowly missed out on promotion from Division 3 of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League; and the Louth Taverners Team enjoyed victories in the East Lindsey Sunday League. We welcome back Sri Lankan Nuwan Shiroman as our 2008 overseas professional. Finally the Louth Academy provides midweek matches for those that like the shorter format of the game.
On the junior front we run sides at under 11, 13 and 15 age groups. The Club has recently funded 6 individuals to undertake ECB coaching courses and invested in new equipment. We are committed to high quality coaching programmes which in 2007 resulted in 7 of our juniors representing Lincolnshire junior sides.
The action is just as franetic off the field as our home ground at London Road is redeveloped into a multi outdoor sport centre. This development is fully supported by the ECB and will provide a first class cricket facility capable of hosting representative cricket. However this does mean that our senior sides will play outside of Louth in 2008. A big thanks to Owmby, Market Rasen and Legbourne Cricket Clubs for hosting home matches for our 1st, 2nd and Taverners sides. Junior home matches will take place at local schools
After a week of wet weather, Louth 2nds again faced bottom side Grimsby Town in the league for the second consecutive week. Normal service resumed with Louth losing the toss again (thats 10 losses in
Lincs under 17 were put in to bat by Cumbria & soon lost an early wicket that of Jonny Cheer with the score on 3. Alex Hornsby joined George Neal who was opening for the first time in the abs
